This blog has been set up in connection with the forthcoming exhibition ‘Romantic Proposal’ at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent, which will run from 12 December 2009 to 18 April 2010.
The exhibition will look at romance and courtship over different centuries and in different cultures. We hope that people will contribute their own stories of romance to this blog, to share them with others. Stories don’t have to be specifically about proposals of marriage – they can be about a romantic event or occasion or person, and they can be from years ago if you want. The main restriction is that they must not be offensive.
It’s simple to register, and you don’t have to let other people see your real name if you prefer to remain anonymous.
The Museum is in Bethesda Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 3DW.
